2nd Community Action Day

9 people enjoyed the early spring sunshine on Saturday 3rd March for the second Alexandra Park community action day.

As well as doing a full litter pick of the Park (not nearly so much rubbish as last time!) and doing some more bramble cutting, we also had a fascinating discussion with John Yates of the RSPB about the pros and cons of putting up some bird boxes. He thought that it would be well worth while putting up boxes suitable for blue and great tits, robins and perhaps one for tawny owls. It is probably too late for the breeding season this year but well worth doing over the summer so that they are in place in plenty of time for 2013.
